Coriander is an aromatic herb used in culinary traditions across the globe. Its seeds and leafy form (called Cilantro) both serve an integral purpose in cooking dishes. It is typically 15cm in length and exhibits a bright green color on the leaves while the seeds are light brownish. When it comes to the taste, it is slightly peppery and citrusy while the seeds are on the nutty and slightly sweet side of the taste palette.
Coriander is used in curries, soups, chutneys, and garnishing in a plethora of Indian dishes. The powdered form of Coriander seeds is used as spices. It is used as seasoning in many dishes as well such as salads.
Coriander has a shelf life of up to 3 days. It is best consumed immediately as it arrives. To extend life, remove any wilted or discolored leaves, wash them in cold water, and pat it dry. You can use a salad spinner or a dry cloth to remove excess moisture. Put coriander in a resealable bag, remove excessive air out of the bag, and store it in the refrigerator.
